Watching CSI last night, I wondered, do real crime scene investigators or forensic techs get that involved?

racheld_allen asked: On the show I see them involved in interrogations and working very closely with detectives, as well as actually solving/breaking cases. Isn’t the job of a real crime scene investigator just that? Crime scene investigation. Collect and analyze evidence, log it and then move on. Does anyone know?Frederick
