If a private investigator carried a firearm?

ozonesweep89 asked:

What would be a good gun to carry? Something that would provide effective protection, but not be some cannon that takes all sorts of extra knowledge to use.

Illegal running of license plates?

Val T asked:

I wanted to find some person and hired a private detective whom i found in yellow pages to run his license plates. He gave me this info for some money, but in about 2 months I start receiving calls from some messenger who wants to catch me to give me a package from some legal company and this detective. What is this all about? I know that running license plates is illegal, but is it really that illegal that they are trying to catch me or something? Or maybe I am getting paranoid? How illegal is that, whats the probability of catching me for this and what is the punishment?

Question about becoming a private investigator?

Meags asked:

I am looking into becoming a private investigator and I was wondering, if anyone happened to know, if the “Detective Training Institute” provided training that was equivillant to that which you would receive with a criminal justice degree. In other words, could I get a job with a detective agency only having a diploma from them, versus a degree in criminal justice. The program sounds fantastic and I believe offers more hands on type training then a college, but I’d **** to spend the money, and my time, on something that won’t get my foot in the door.

How legitimate do you think those at home training programs are?

greendonkey34 asked:

I took the Private Investigator course from one of those but I am not even doing that type of work.In Tennessee , where I live, you have to be licensed and it costs like 150 bucks to take the state exam. But I know in some states you don’t have to be licensed.Anyway I’m now going to school for welding.

How much can you find out about a person if you only have their first name & state of residence?

If someone is looking for me, what could they find out? Could a private detective find out more info based on only my name and state?

I have read almost all of the No. 1 Ladies Detective Agency series and I love it. I am interested in his other series, but my local library doesn’t have them so I would have to purchase them. Who has read his other series and what was your opinion?
